Being left handed can have its challenges. Many things we use every day are not really designed for the left handed person. One such item is the guitar.

Today more than ever before, left handed guitars are flying off shelves due to creation of these guitars by major manufacturers. Even though most stores will not carry guitars for left handed people, they can be ordered pretty quick.

See the guitar is a mirrored image of what the regular guitar looks like. The neck is a little different and the strings are reversed. The only con to the left handed guitars is the price. Since it is custom made, the price will be fairly higher than the regular guitars.

Until recent times it was rather difficult to find a decent left hand guitar, and certainly difficult to find one that you really liked and that suited your playing style. However checking many online stores now will reveal more choices than ever.

There is a small concern concerning left handed players. If you do not know how to play the guitar I must say that there are few guitar teachers who teach playing left handed. So if you find one book your lessons quick because they tend to book fast.

Some players often start off by watching a dvd course or some other course online for left handed players. If you learn from courses online there will be some advantages. The courses on video or online never get tired of teaching you the same things over and over. Plus you don't have to pay them a lot of money to do so. So the videos will never lose patience with you.

Even with all the difficulties with playing left handed, it is well worth it. Think about it you will stand out from the crowd. So with the right amount of practice and work ethic you can overcome anything that comes your way. It comes down to how bad you want to learn.

The good news is that you will not have trouble finding a guitar that can suit your needs. The choices can be endless because you will have more than 2 guitars to choose from.
