Vintage Fender Electric Guitars
The highly acclaimed Fender Stratocaster and Telecaster from the 1950's put the solid body electric guitar on the map. There was no other guitar ever produced like the Stratocaster.
With three pickups, a contoured body that made playing the guitar comfortable, and a tremolo designed correctly for the guitar, it was no wonder that the Stratocaster was an instant success. Even today the Stratocaster is the electric guitar by which all other guitars are judged.

Fender found a niche with its instruments whether it was in country, rock and roll or beach music. The more valuable ones are those with the custom color finishes. Usually Sunburst or Blond for the Telecaster/Esquire.
The Jazzmaster, introduced in 1958, became Fender's "top of the line" instrument even though it's considered by many as a 3rd class citizen behind the Stratoscaster and Telecaster. Perhaps that's because Fender thought the Jazzmaster would make a big splash in the jazz scene and instead it became popular for many surf-guitar bands of the 1960's.
