Vintage Rickenbacker Electric Guitars

Rickenbacker was the first company to successfully market electric guitars. Pre-WWII lapsteels and pre-WWII spanish models are quite collectible, but more for the historic reasons than for playing. Post-WWII lapsteels are good, but not to the extent of the pre-WWII models.

Many consider the solid body Rickenbacker guitars to be pretty low on the vintage guitar scale. They don't really have a "sound", and haven't played a big part in electric music history. Therefore their values are lower than other manufacturers but are still good collectibles.
